Matilda’s Autumn Photoshoot At Towneley Park
The leaves on the trees are now turning from that lovely summer green to a glorious autumnal orange. There are conkers on the trees and the nights are drawing in. It’s sad to see the summer come to an end, BUT the photographer in me cannot help but get excited about shooting in the autumn.
September and October can deliver days of beautiful light, or torrential downpours and cold temperatures. However with a little flexibility in mind for the date of your photo shoot, once that opportunity comes with perfect weather, the season is just magical.
For Matilda’s photo shoot we went to Towneley Park and Gardens in Burnley, Lancashire. I love this location and it is especially stunning during autumn. There is lot’s of woodland to explore and Matilda certainly made the most of it. She spent most of her time there looking for the best sticks and conkers to collect.
With the weather being so changeable at this time of year, it is important not to get cold, so the best rule to follow for autumn shoots is to layer up with t-shirts, jumpers, cardigans, hats, gloves and scarves. This way we can remove layers as and when needed and when it comes to colours, you can either choose to wear contrasting, complimentary or neutral colours which all work equally as well. Matilda wore a lovely outfit complimentary to the autumn season and her beautiful red hair.
